Are you ready for a new challenge within Construction Logistics?
Having just negotiated a £30M project, a privately owned SME Civil / Marine Contractor is looking to add a Logistics Coordinator to its project delivery team. Forming part of a much larger programme of construction works at Sizewell C, this role will find you responsible for the delivery management system.
What will you be doing?
1. Coordinating all vehicle and material movement, including controlling unloading activities.
2. Utilising a bespoke delivery management system along with various vehicle and material management trackers to create forecasts and daily coordination plans.
3. Maintaining an understanding of the contract conditions, ensuring adherence to these.
4. Providing support to DMS operators dealing with the vehicles on the day of arrival.
5. Planning and scheduling AIL movements.
6. Coordinating deliveries within overall project processes and priorities.
7. Producing reports using Microsoft and Google applications.
8. Identifying and reporting variances and problems, escalating to the Project Manager, to ensure the smooth flow of freight.
9. Maintaining and communicating all delivery schedules with a variety of contractor partners, including publishing daily schedules.
10. Delivering driver safety briefings, checking load safety and compliance.
To be successful in this position, it is anticipated that you will:
1. Have previous experience of using DMS systems, working within a construction site.
2. Have the necessary qualifications to work on a construction site (CSCS Card etc).
3. Have good written and verbal communication skills.
4. Have good IT skills and understanding of booking software.
5. Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly under pressure.
6. Be able to provide a 3-year work/unemployment/education history and required vetting process in line with protocols.
On offer is a salary of around £30,000 - £35,000 per annum with a car allowance plus pension and holiday.
