Location: Potters Green, Coventry, CV2
Weekly Take Home: £395 - £430 (After Tax & NI Deductions)
Start Date: 28/04/2025
Hours: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Contract: Long Term to Permanent
Long Term Futures are searching for a nurturing, caring and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to work in partnership with a mainstream primary school in Potters Green, Coventry. This is a 1:1 support role, working with a child in Key Stage One who has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You'll be based within the classroom, providing tailored 1:1 support as part of a collaborative and experienced SEN team. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become a permanent role for the right person.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 classroom-based support for a Key Stage One child with ASD
- Support the development of communication, social skills and learning
- Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
- Adapt resources and activities to suit the individual's needs
- Track and contribute to the pupil's progress and EHCP outcomes
- Maintain a calm and structured learning environment
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
- Has strong experience working 1:1 with children in a primary school setting
- Has experience supporting children with ASD and speech, language & communication needs
- Confident working under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO
- Knowledge of EHCPs and the review process
- Familiar with the UK Key Stage One curriculum
- A team player with a positive and patient attitude
