*Part Time* Cerebral Palsy Support Worker
This is a part-time opportunity to provide cerebral palsy support for a young adult client in Maidenhead, Berkshire. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, shopping, meal preparation, and providing emotional support and companionship. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, relevant qualifications, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
A new opportunity has arisen to join our client in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Our client is a young adult with mild cerebral palsy, who lives alone and while he is at full capacity, physically mobile, and manages his own finances, he can experience high levels of fatigue. You will support him as a Buddy with shopping, activities, and administrative tasks when necessary.
Job responsibilities
About the role:
This is a bank vacancy to cover 4-hour shifts - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday - either 10-2pm or 11-3pm. There may be adhoc Sunday requirements also.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering personalised care routines
* Assisting with daily living activities, shopping, and meal preparation
* Administering medication and monitoring health conditions
* Providing emotional support and companionship
* Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions
* Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care
* Relevant qualifications in health and social care
* A UK Driving Licence and own vehicle
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to work the specified hours
