About the Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Managing Consultant in the Energy Sector, who can support such project with their expertise. You will play a key part of our team, supporting a wide range of advisory and delivery projects for a variety of clients across the nuclear industry, including new build projects, SMR and AMR's, existing civil an defence plant, fusion reactor design and decommissioning.
Amentum has a long track record at the forefront of technical, scientist and project management support across the nuclear lifecycle. We are increasingly supporting our clients in planning, strategy and business case support for their projects, including major power plant construction, associated infrastructure, and projects concerned with new nuclear reactor designs (SMR, AMR, Fusion). These skills are vital to our clients to inform decision making, build confidence and progress nuclear programmes.

The ideal candidate would be someone with a good, broad ranging background across the energy sector, and ideally the nuclear industry, who is used to taking the lead, can provide clear direction and leadership, and has a demonstrable track record of contributing to projects effectively within a highly regulated environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading/supporting on project strategy and planning across the nuclear lifecycle.
* Establishing and managing relationships with clients to ensure buy-in to an agreed approach or solution.
* Having an awareness of our broader capability, with an ability to draw on these skills to further enhance our client offer.
* The development and compelling delivery of high impact presentations to clients and their stakeholders.
* Providing coaching and guidance for other staff, ensuring that capability and knowledge is sustained for our business.
* Supporting business development and contribution to bids and proposals.
At Amentum, we operate a hybrid working model, and the role can be based at any of our UK offices, e.g. London, Bristol, combined with working from home. Some regular presence in our North-West offices in Warrington would be preferred. There will be a need for periodic visits to client offices, depending on project requirements.
Here's What You'll Need:
* Understanding of our markets, predominantly energy and defence.
* Experience with business planning and estimating.
* Understanding of programme/project delivery lifecycle, target operating model, risk and opportunity management, cost, and schedule.
* Experience of developing strategy with clients, and managing key stakeholders, including influencing the strategy for the delivery of programmes, business/benefits case, commercialisation and decision analysis.
* Experience in application of the HMT Green Book methodology.
* Experience of strategy, planning and deliverability around major infrastructure schemes.
* Clear Leadership qualities with an ability to lead diverse teams towards an outcome.
* An ability to apply innovative thinking, and the ability to quickly and efficiently acquire and apply new knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written - able to explain complex problems readily to a diverse audience, in a compelling manner, including leading high-profile presentations and production of high-quality reports.
An undergraduate degree in a suitable discipline (or equivalent experiential learning) - this role could suit scientific, engineering, or more general financial, commercial and managerial disciplines.
