About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a vital role in assisting students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support required to succeed. SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Responsibilities: Provide individual and small-group support to students with additional learning needs. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Support teachers in differentiating lessons to ensure accessibility for all learners. Encourage positive social interactions and emotional development in students. Foster a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence. Utilise alternative communication methods to support children with speech and language challenges. Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs. Collaborate with external professionals such as speech therapists and occupational therapists to support pupils' individual needs. SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Job Requirements: Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), or in a similar educational support role is highly desirable. A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or a willingness to work towards one). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and nurturing approach. The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents and multidisciplinary teams. Patience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to supporting students' growth. Understanding of various Special Educational Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc. Strong communication skills and working effectively within a team environment.
