Chief Financial Officer – Highly Successful Tech Services Company – Hertfordshire/Hybrid – Competitve salary on offer + great bens
Our client is successful and rapidly expanding IT and Technology Services company with a growing presence across the south of England. They are currently looking for a highly experienced, tech-driven Chief Financial Officer to join their senior leadership team in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will lead on all financial strategy, drive the development of new financial models, ensure the accurate delivery of financial reporting, and oversee all financial systems and processes to support the company’s ongoing and exciting plans for expansion.
Reporting to the CEO, you will bring strong financial management and leadership skills with a flair for IT, innovation and new strategic ideas. You will have excellent financial acumen and business insight, able to capitalise on market opportunities and mitigate potential financial risks. This is a key role for creating a shared financial vision across the business and an excellent opportunity to make your mark within a successful and fast-paced team.
The role:
* Be a key player in the senior leadership team, developing and leading strategy to help the business deliver its long-term goals both organically and through new sectors and acquisitions
* Oversee the budgeting process and provide accurate financial forecasts to support decision-making and growth planning
* Provide inspiring leadership and direction to the finance and accounting teams, and across the wider business, continuing to nurture and develop culture that has already won the company several awards
* Help secure the necessary funding for the company's continued expansion, whether through equity, debt, or alternative financing, while managing relationships with investors and financial institutions
* Lead due diligence and financial planning for mergers, acquisitions, or strategic partnerships that can accelerate growth or expand market reach
* Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with UK accounting standards and legal requirements
* Make key financial decisions regarding IT infrastructure investments to enhance service delivery and competitiveness
* Work collaboratively with other areas of the business to identify improvements and standardise processes
Skills and experience required:
* Fully qualified accountant, either ACCA or CIMA
* Passionate about technology, with a strong understanding of financial management and accounting principles within the tech industry, including experience with software-as-a-service (SaaS), IT services, and digital business models
* Proven experience in developing long-term financial strategies aligned with company growth and innovation goals, especially in a fast-paced, dynamic tech environment
* Expertise in managing cash flow, working capital, and liquidity
* Solid understanding of the competitive landscape, market trends, and economic factors impacting the tech services sector, with the ability to make informed strategic decisions
* Experience leading financial due diligence, valuation, and integration in mergers, acquisitions, or strategic partnerships
* Expertise in identifying opportunities to optimise costs and improve profitability, ensuring scalable growth in a highly competitive market
* In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR), and risk management strategies
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience building and leading finance teams, and fostering a collaborative culture

The role is based for 4 days a week in the company’s head office in Hertfordshire, and one day a week from home.
