This School is a specialist day school for boys aged 5-11 with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) as well as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The Role:
We are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to join this passionate team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about working with children with additional learning needs and who wants to make a real difference in their lives.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Support students in their learning, both in and out of the classroom
2. Work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality educational and therapeutic support
3. Help manage challenging behaviours in a calm, consistent manner
4. Assist in the creation of a positive learning environment that promotes personal development
5. Encourage students to achieve their personal and academic goals
6. Contribute to student assessments, progress tracking, and feedback for parents/carers
Key Requirements:
7. Experience working with children with SEMH, ASD, or special educational needs (SEN) is preferred but not essential
8. A caring, patient, and empathetic attitude
9. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
10. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
11. A flexible and proactive approach to supporting students in a variety of learning situations
