Overview
SLAM is currently looking for an experienced Plumber/Pipefitter to join their busy team at Lambeth Hospital. You'll need a solid understanding of estates plumbing systems, such as heating systems, boilers, and related components.
Your responsibilities will include performing legionella checks, servicing thermostatic mixing valves, inspecting calorifiers, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with the Approved Code of Practice (L8 & HTM). You'll work both independently and collaboratively within a team. The right applicants will be people who are enthusiastic, physically fit, and have knowledge of controls for fault finding. Applicants should be able to organize their work, manage parts and materials efficiently, and carry out tasks safely and neatly.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Undertake compliance monitoring, planned preventative maintenance, or emergency work as required by the Trust.
2. Understand the workings of engineering services and systems in NHS/Trust premises, ensuring compliance and high maintenance standards.
3. Provide maintenance service to all Trust buildings and off-site properties, working unsupervised and flexibly.
4. Complete work in a timely manner and update appropriate records through the requisite system.
5. Drive between trust properties safely and in accordance with trust policies.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
1. NVQ 2 Plumbing certificate
2. Knowledge of domestic and commercial heating, boilers, and associated components.
3. Competence in the installation of copper, plastic, and iron pipework.
4. Full Driving licence (desirable)
5. This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
