Managed Services Tax Technical - Senior Manager
A key focus for KPMG’s GCT team is to help multinational groups and financial services clients manage their global tax compliance, reporting and statutory accounting obligations, through outsourcing, co-sourcing, transformation and technology. The Tax Technical team is a critical enabler to all tax activities within GCT and provides expertise into KPMG’s complex tax audits. Audit quality is of paramount importance and to do this efficiently, we maintain a dedicated and enthusiastic team of tax specialists. We are also the engine room of the tax reporting, compliance, governance and low-level advisory work undertaken by the wider GCT team – servicing large domestic compliance clients as well as our Global Compliance clients.
We are looking for talented Senior Managers to join us with experience in a broad range of areas including:
* Deep corporate tax compliance expertise
* Engagement leadership
* Ad hoc tax advisory experience
* Tax reporting experience (preferred but not essential)
* We have a diverse client base, from mid-market to large FTSE listed groups, from public sector to real estate to financial services. The role involves working on clients of all sizes and across a wide range of sectors.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Build and sustain lasting client relationships across a portfolio of clients and actively build a network and range of experience to help address client needs
* Manage and supervise the delivery of corporate tax compliance engagements and the management of compliance outsourcing contracts
* Provide well thought out solutions to problems of moderate complexity; draft advice to clients on the tax implications of new legislation
* Respond to client requests for ad hoc technical advice
* Help clients drive efficiency through the compliance process, improve controls, and leverage technology
* Lead sales activities by working with senior team members to generate new work opportunities, support proposals across sectors and accounts
* Support coaching and development of junior staff
* Assist clients with group/statutory Tax Reporting, including global outsource contracts under US GAAP and IFRS
* Provide tax technical input for audits of tax on listed and non-listed multinational groups
Knowledge and Experience:
* Strong knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and compliance, especially for large and complex groups
* Project management skills, experience with large/global compliance outsourcing engagements
* Accountability and leadership qualities, positive attitude under pressure
* Ability to build cooperative relationships and value others’ opinions
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Experience in mentoring and coaching
* Analytical skills to evaluate and resolve problems
* Reputation building through quality work and expertise

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Qualifications such as ATT, CTA, ACA, or equivalent are welcomed, along with project management and transformation skills. Specific skills include:
* Knowledge of Pillar 2 and tax transformation
* Experience in leading global or large UK tax projects
* Technology project experience, including with tax systems and ERP
* Designing and managing tax operating models
* Experience with data solutions and technologies like Azure data lakes
