About the role
We are looking for an Area Manager in the Norwich area. This role will be covering Norwich, Ipswich, Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds.

You will be responsible for
* Leading and line managing a team of Store Managers across our core stores, ensuring regular quality time spent in person in our stores.
* Role modeling a self-serve culture and using available tools to resolve queries while encouraging the team to do the same.
* Knowing all managers and future managers personally, understanding their feelings about working in the area through communication, and leading a culture where colleague experience is prioritized.
* Regularly visiting all stores, prioritizing certain stores when additional focus is needed to ensure continuous improvement.
* Ensuring colleagues are trained, compliant with pay and employment regulations, and have the necessary tools to perform their jobs, while also supporting their health and well-being.
* Reviewing the shape and capability of the team to ensure a future-fit workforce by inspiring great performance.
* Completing all people leadership tasks, including absence management and problem-solving.
* Recognizing team contributions and celebrating performance regularly.
* Understanding resource needs for the area, spotting and developing talent, and ensuring a diverse and inclusive talent pipeline.
* Leading the delivery of the strategic business plan and people change programs, taking full responsibility for implementation of change.
* Managing all KPIs for the area, partnering with relevant functions for a business-wide approach to maximize growth and profitability.
* Analyzing data effectively to spot trends and turn insights into action.
* Working with other Area Managers to share ideas and ensure consistency in work delivery.
* Ensuring customers have a great shopping experience and that the business benefits local communities through trusted partnerships.
* Coaching the team during store visits to deliver excellent retail standards.
* Reviewing competitor activity to understand local threats/opportunities and coaching the team to respond accordingly.
* Leading a robust health and safety culture to ensure safety for customers and colleagues.
Skills I Need
* Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
* Experience supporting career and talent development for large numbers of colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
* Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
* Stakeholder management and ability to build strong relationships.
* Knowledge of legal accountabilities.
* Exceptional communication skills.
* Clear sense of ownership and ability to resolve issues tenaciously.
* Able to nurture others' thinking over providing answers.
