Salary: £33,000 dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
* Assist in the execution of sourcing strategies for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Support supplier negotiations, monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of goods or services within the agreed terms.
* Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives by monitoring supplier performance and collaborating with suppliers to ensure compliance with contract terms and improve overall performance.
* Contribute to the development of sustainability strategies within your category, ensuring alignment with broader sustainability goals. Identify areas for cost savings, process improvements and increased value through supplier collaboration.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that procurement strategies meet business requirements. Share insights and work within a team to ensure that procurement activities are appropriately aligned to the defined requirements.
* Assist in gathering and analysing procurement data to assess supplier performance, track category spend and identify opportunities for cost saving or process improvement.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Ability to support supplier negotiations and manage supplier relationships to ensure best value for the organisation.
* Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
* Knowledge of procurement processes, including sourcing strategies, supplier management and cost optimisation.
* Ability to prepare reports and present clear recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Desirable:
* Previous exposure to category management and supplier management within a supply chain environment.
* Working towards or already hold a Level 4 or Level 5 Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) qualification, or a similar professional qualification. Alternatively, a degree in a business-related field (e.g. Economics, Business, Finance) would be advantageous.
* Experience with procurement software, systems or e-sourcing tools to support procurement activities.

We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Procurement Specialists to join our Indirect Procurement Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for procurement professionals to contribute to the effective execution of procurement strategies and drive improvements in supplier relationships across a defined category. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will support category management and sourcing activities, ensuring that procurement processes are executed efficiently and align with business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity that will allow you to build on your procurement career whilst working alongside various stakeholders and partners across BAE Systems on a global scale.
