Role:- Production Team Leader
Location:- Coatbridge
Salary:- Upto£35,.70 plus 10% Shift Allowance (Days / Back Shift Rotation)
About the role
Due to an increasing workload we are recruiting for a Production Team Leader to assist with our Coatbridge Synthetics Team.
Overview
Manage the Shift for the production departments. Directly responsible for all production aspects relating to quality, cost, delivery, safety, people & continuous improvement. The role will carry a strong emphasis on the development of subordinates and teams.
Responsibilities
As a Production Team Leader your duties will include:-
1. Managing the Shift team and managing resources to meet production schedule.
2. Planning & executing Daily, Weekly, Monthly Reviews.
3. Setting site, shift & personal objectives.
4. Organising & performing Monthly Departmental review.
5. Delivering Weekly and monthly reports.
6. Managing OGSM & other improvement objectives.
7. Setting and achieving KPI’s
8. Working within purchasing authority limits as set by Departmental Manager.
9. Organising recruitment activities to plan as agreed by Departmental Manager & HR.
10. Dealing with any shift Payroll & Overtime issues as agreed with Departmental Manager.
11. (inc managing overtime, agreeing holidays & changes to hours; working within training plans and budgets)
12. Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives. Develop your team by supporting high performance by establishing and reviewing personal and business objectives.
13. Lead investigations into short falls encountered relating to quality, cost, delivery, safety and people through BOS operational procedures. Ensure whole team is able to complete investigation without immediate supervision.
14. Working closely with the departmental manager, maintain and leading an effective continuous improvement programme targeting improved quality and support collapsed lead times by standardisation and waste elimination.
15. Communicate to Planning and site Management any underperformance which becomes a potential issue and propose improvement plans/timings.
16. Work with Maintenance to ensure accurate recording of all issues on RedCard system and help reduce down-time : during periods of down-time assist Operatives with task prioritisation for housekeeping activities.
About You
Essential skills & competencies
17. Have experience in a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment, ideally with previous experience in a similar role.
18. Ideally, some knowledge of fibre rope products would be useful, although full training will be provided!
19. Ability to communicate effectively within a team.
20. Personal organizational and time management skills.
21. Able to solve basic machine/area related problems.
22. Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents commensurate with machine operation.
23. Ability to organize own workload and that of own section members.
24. Demonstrable record of changing practices or suggesting improvement to practices and processes.
25. Experience of working effectively within small teams in a manufacturing environment.
26. Experience of ‘tools’/systems such as ‘just in time’, 5S etc.
