Teaching Assistant - SEN Support in Lancaster
Are you a qualified Teaching Assistant with experience in nursery, SEN, or 1:1 settings? Do you have a passion for supporting children with EHCP plans and enhancing their educational experiences? This opportunity is based in Lancaster, offering a chance to work across the nursery, providing essential support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
In this role, you'll play a crucial part in supporting the learning and development of children in the nursery. Your experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and working with SEN students is highly valued. We're seeking someone reliable and adaptable, who can meet the varying needs of the children and help them stay motivated. Full-time hours are available from Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM - 3:15 PM.
Responsibilities:
1. Utilise and develop 1:1 resources.
2. Collaborate with classroom teachers and TAs to organise appropriate activities.
3. Liaise with professionals such as teachers, TAs, and specialist support staff.
4. Work closely with other LSAs and support staff.
5. Support classes, small groups, and individual children.
6. Prepare and develop class displays.
7. Keep up-to-date records of the pupils' progress and contribute to their EHCP plans.
8. Create a calm environment where learning can take place.
Essential Requirements:
9. Experience working 1:1 or in small groups with children who have Special Educational Needs.
10. Previous experience working with young people.
11. Confidence in managing challenging behaviours.
12. Ability to engage with and build rapport with young people.
13. Creative, proactive, and flexible approach to support.
14. TA qualification (L2/3).
