This is a replacement post giving the successful candidate the opportunity to provide specialist orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery and contribute to general orthopaedics and trauma care of the population of Teesside and Hartlepool.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be involved in cross-site working between the University Hospital of Hartlepool and University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton-On-Tees, with the scope for a wider network of service delivery in line with the emerging integrated care partnership (ICP) work stream.
The successful candidate will also provide general trauma and orthopaedic services and be involved in the on-call rota with other colleagues, supported by junior medical staff.

Job responsibilities
This is a replacement post for a Consultant with a special interest in foot and ankle surgery to join a team of 10 lower limb surgeons to further develop the foot and ankle team. The consultant will join an existing establishment of 20 consultants within the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The post-holder will participate fully in all elements of the Orthopaedic Service, which is organised into the provision of trauma and elective work.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* FRCS T&O or equivalent
* Full GMC registration
* CCT in T&O or within 6 months from appointment
Experience
* Specialised skills in foot and ankle surgery
* Trained a minimum of 5 years as a specialist registrar
* CCT fellowship in foot and ankle surgery
* MIS foot and ankle surgery
