Support Worker for 13 Year Old Boy with Mild Learning Difficulties and ADHD - LEEDS - LS27
Support worker needed mainly after school, weekends, and school holidays for one-to-one support for a 13-year-old boy with ADHD and some learning disabilities (no personal care needed). Days/hours per day are very flexible.
We are based in Morley, LS27.
W is 13 but in the way he understands the world is more like an 8 or 9 year old. He is quite naive and needs someone to look out for him as he is vulnerable and doesn't understand that people can't always be trusted. He's funny, sweet, chatty, and giddy. He enjoys activities such as going to trampoline parks, bowling, and going to the cinema. We’d ideally like someone who can take him on various outings but who also would be happy to play board games or play Lego with him at home, which he enjoys.
We’d ideally like someone who has some understanding and/or previous experience of working with neurodiverse children; however, the main thing is that you gel with W and vice versa. It would also be good if you like dogs – we have a very friendly Labrador retriever who is very much a family member. Due to W liking going out to do activities, a car driver/car owner is essential, and petrol costs will be paid in addition to the hourly rate.
Basic rate is £11.30 per hour plus holiday pay. This equates to an FTE annual salary of £22,035.
Happy to discuss everything by phone if more information is needed.
