A prestigious Facilities Management service provider is seeking an experienced Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team at one of Central London's most iconic buildings. This is a superb opportunity for a mechanically qualified, multi-skilled engineer to work in a flagship environment, ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of key building systems.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nConduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across mechanical systems within the building.\nMaintain and repair HVAC systems, including air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), ventilation systems, and associated controls.\nService and maintain hot and cold water systems, ensuring compliance with water hygiene regulations (L8).\nCarry out routine checks, maintenance, and repairs on chiller pumps, valves, motors, and pipework systems.\nDeliver general plumbing duties, including troubleshooting leaks, replacing fixtures, and maintaining sanitary systems.\nComplete daily plant inspections, ensuring all mechanical equipment operates efficiently and reliably.\nSupport energy efficiency improvements and contribute to site continuous improvement initiatives.\nEnsure all tasks are carried out safely, adhering to relevant health & safety regulations and permit-to-work systems.\nMaintain accurate records, logbooks, and compliance documentation.\nProvide excellent client-facing service and liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.\n\nKey Requirements:\n\nLevel 2 or Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent) - Essential.\nSolid experience in building services maintenance within a high-profile commercial or critical environment.\nStrong mechanical skills with experience in plumbing, HVAC plant, hot & cold water systems, pumps, and chiller pump systems.\nProven fault-finding and diagnostic ability.\nGood understanding of health & safety regulations, permit systems, and compliance requirements.\nFamiliarity with BMS systems and plant operations is advantageous.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused attitude.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team, under strict SLAs & KPIs.\n\nWhat's On Offer:\n\nCompetitive salary - £43,000 - £48,000\nMonday to Friday working hours (08:00 - 17:00) - no shifts!\n25 days annual leave + bank holidays.\nComprehensive pension scheme.\nExcellent training and career development opportunities.\nEmployee benefits platform offering discounts, wellbeing support & more.\nThe chance to work in a prestigious Central London commercial property alongside a professional, supportive FM team.Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
