An exciting opportunity for a Global Commodity Manager (GCM) role in the Electrical Supply Chain Team has arisen within Nuclear (Submarines). The GCM role will ensure the effective development of commodity strategies within Sensors & Electro-Mechanical (S&EM), the planning and execution of all relevant sourcing and commercial activity, develop close internal stakeholder relationships, lead day-to-day management of supplier relationships, and be responsible for quality, cost, and delivery performance against business and customer requirements. Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and the Global Supplier Code of Conduct, the role will also proactively support capability development and engagement within the team and wider Supply Chain organisation.
What you will be doing:
* Leadership - Promote engagement that empowers people & teams to operate "at their best" and achieve high performance. Lead and develop the team, ensuring team resourcing, training, and/or capability are at the levels required for success, and address gaps as required.
* Supplier Relationship Management - Lead and be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of partner and supplier relationships. Contribute to top-to-top management of operational performance and strategic direction of partners and suppliers.
* Quality and Delivery - Select supply chains capable of meeting quality and delivery requirements. Be responsible for the quality and delivery performance of these supply chains and the resolution of any performance-related issues.
* Cost Management - Be responsible for cost performance relative to business and customer requirements. Deliver long-term cost improvement in all relevant activities in line with business plans.
* Strategy - Develop, deploy, and communicate relevant commodity/category/supplier strategies, providing a clear vision and strategic framework for the pillar.
* Strategic Sourcing - Be responsible for the effective planning and execution of sourcing and commercial activities to maximise the value proposition across the pillar.
* Processes and Procedures - Lead the team's compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures, ensuring all purchasing records and documentation are correct and maintained in line with regulatory requirements.
* Stakeholder Management - Nurture effective relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the function in order to integrate functional priorities.
