This Operations Projects Manager role is responsible for overseeing aircraft painting projects, establishing new line stations, and managing special projects to meet customer requirements in international locations. This role involves optimising manpower deployment, implementing best practices, and leading a dynamic team to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Aircraft Painting Oversight:
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to plan, oversee and execute aircraft painting inputs from Part 145 perspective
Manage and coordinate aircraft painting projects globally, providing support and ensuring safety, quality control and compliance with Part 145 requirements and industry standards.
Ensure staffing levels and skills are sufficient to fulfil customer requirements
Monitor project budgets and timelines to ensure cost-effective completion and on-time performance.New Line Station Setup:
Lead the setup of new line stations, including facility planning, staffing, spares provisioning and equipment procurement.
Ensure all new stations meet Part 145 maintenance requirements and company operational standards.
Develop and implement training programs for new station personnel.Special Projects Management:
Oversee special projects as assigned, such as managing AOG recovery or aircraft reactivation projects in overseas locations.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
Track project progress and provide regular updates to senior management and customers.Team Management and Administration
Engage with the teams to ensure departmental vision and priorities are clearly communicated
Manage and provide coaching to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Conduct performance appraisals, manage roster, approve leave / sickness and implement development plans for team members.
Ensure timely, regular and accurate communication to all internal and external key stakeholders
Optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient use of personnel, equipment, and materials.
Ensure daily adherence to agreed KPIs and drive performance improvement
Ensure all relevant staff are aware of all H & S obligations and responsibilities.
Undertake any tasks / projects as directed by the Operations Maintenance Manager and Senior Leaderships
Perform engineer role as required to meet the business requirements
Deputising the Operations Maintenance Manager as requiredNon-office hours support
Provide support and oversight to the team during non-office hours to ensure safe, efficient and effective aircraft maintenance operation in the station
Be reachable, and able to make timely decisions in order to address any emergencies and urgent operational issues outside regular office hours
Coordinate with the Duty Manager/Team leader /the team if necessary to ensure appropriate resources, specialist support and staffing are available to meet urgent operational challenges Operating Environment:
The role is based in the paint Base Stations (NWI/SEN) environment dependent of where the role is required. There will be the requirement to travel between stations to support as required. The normal working week does not exceed 40 hours based on shifts relevant to the operation. There may be occasions due to operational reasons where it is necessary to work outside of these hours.
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
Qualifications & Education:
Diploma / recognised Apprenticeship / relevant qualification within the aircraft industry or similar
CAA/EASA Part 66 Licence with C Licence for types relevant to station
UKCAA B1 with relevant type ratings and 6 months of recency in the past 2 years
Types: A320, B737 & C-CERTExperience:
A minimum of 5 years hands on experience of certifying Aircraft with an EASA part 66 licence and appropriate company authorisation
Management experience within the aviation industry, preferably managing other Licensed Engineers
Experience within Base maintenance and aircraft painting essential.
Basic P+L experienceTraining & Knowledge:
Technical experience in aviation and able to demonstrate knowledge of airworthiness regulation, MOE, MEL and its use, SRM understanding and the limits of technical data and the impact of that.
Have a working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning.
High standard of English language (written and oral)
High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite
