About the role
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
We are looking for an approachable, friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our hospice catering team. In this role you will supporting the smooth and efficient running of the Café dining room, assisting with food preparation, customer service and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The catering team and volunteers are a vital part of our organisation and we are proud of the service we provide to our patients, staff and visitors, by offering nutritious and tempting meals throughout the week and weekends.
The main responsibilities include:
* Carry out basic food preparation
* Helping to deliver, serve and clear patient and/or Cafe dining room visitor meals.
* Cleaning and pot wash duties.
* Taking patient food orders when necessary.
* Restocking food areas.
About you:
The successful candidate should be a team player, committed and willing to learn new skills. You will hold a Food Hygiene certificate level 2 (or be happy to work towards), have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise workloads to meet the needs of the service.
Applicants should demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach, to all our patient’s and visitor needs, by displaying a friendly attitude and polite manner to staff and visitors at all times.
You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to support and direct volunteers on shift, a willingness to undertake further training and attend team meetings as required. Flexibility is also required to cover other areas of the catering service if needed.
