Perceived Quality Manager

Overview: The Perceived Quality Manager is required to join a well-established automotive manufacturer based in Woking on a permanent basis. This role involves building and managing the Perceived Quality team, focusing on subjective and objective factors that influence customer perception of the vehicle's overall worth.
Responsibilities:
* Build and lead a team responsible for Perceived Quality attribute development across all future vehicle programmes.
* Accountable for achieving PQ targets and resolving any PQ concerns that threaten programme delivery.
* Set annual targets and departmental objectives to meet company imperatives.
* Represent PQ at high levels and drive technical and delivery narratives through business relationships.
* Implement best-practice and continuous improvement in PQ procedures and solutions.
* Develop the capability and direction of the PQ attribute function, including:
o Create and maintain a PQ implementation roadmap.
o Evolve PQ assessment methodology and scoring process.
o Author and approve PQ processes in the standards library.
o Oversee PQ design memoranda as references for design.
o Communicate PQ principles to encourage adherence within the engineering community.
* Build and develop a world-class engineering team through motivation and management.
* Oversee the creation of a PQ database of best-in-class examples and solutions.
* Lead technical presentations and training seminars to establish PQ best practices.
* Introduce an appearance approval process to enhance customer understanding and specifications.
* Collaborate with Marketing and Product to propose new features and technologies.
* Lead succession planning and personal development strategies for the Interior departments.
* Deliver a robust PQ strategy for future BEV vehicles.
* Achieve cost savings and reduction in ongoing changes post G3.
Ideal Qualifications:
* Degree qualified or similar qualification in Design, Consumer, Engineering, Marketing, or related fields.
* Proven industry experience in Perceived Quality or Customer Research/Product development.
* Demonstrated design empathy through work experience or personal projects.
* Functional knowledge of production and prototype fabrication methods.
* Competent in Microsoft Office software products.
* Able to use Adobe Photoshop and InDesign for imagery and documents.
* Knowledge of CATIA CAD software or Alias/ICEMSurf CAS software is a benefit.
