We have an open vacancy for a 3D Design Lead with extensive experience of delivering professional studio projects. The candidate will have an expert technical knowledge of 3D design software, resolve and troubleshoot issues across multiple projects, and display outstanding leadership abilities from concept to creation to delivery. We’re looking for someone as comfortable growing relationships with clients as they are mentoring our team of dynamic designers; someone who can lead pitches bursting with creative iterations and support production with clear and efficient communication.
A portfolio of work that highlights your creative design in CG motion graphics is essential to be considered for this role. Based at our London Studio, the role follows a hybrid, 3-days-in-the-office work schedule.
Who we are
Territory Studio is a creative specialist with a unique approach to motion design. We want our team to be as creative, diverse, and future-defining as our work. Our projects span across film, broadcast, games, brand, and experiential – with offices in London, San Francisco, Barcelona, and Munich. But the secret to our growth has always been trusting in the expertise of our people and, in return, we always put our people first.
Working across contrasting briefs, what ties our work together is a love of craft and creativity, a passion for story, and a designer’s eye for problem-solving. Our aim is to create innovative narrative content in the present whilst pushing cutting-edge technology to catch digital glimpses of the future.
Main Responsibilities
1. To execute all aspects of a 3D CG motion pipeline including look-dev, texturing, animation, modelling, and lighting alongside compositing for delivery (AE and/or Nuke).
2. To be an innovative designer that can anticipate and resolve technical issues across various software platforms, providing timely assistance and solutions across multiple projects.
3. A hybrid VFX to Motion sensibility with a strong understanding of finish, brand, and overall execution alongside a keen drive to explore cross-software integration and adapt newer tools, such as AI and Unreal Engine, into the studio workflow.
4. Act as a mentor to junior members: teaching techniques, training on software, and giving constructive feedback to nurture them on their own creative journey!
5. Work with Art Directors, Supervisors, Creative Directors, and Production in improving workflows, project management, and upgrading our pipeline.
6. Respond to creative briefs: creating style frames, writing treatments, and collating decks.
7. Participate in client-facing meetings and calls and meet the client’s brief: both creatively and technically.
8. Receive feedback with a problem-solving attitude, dedicate tasks to your team, and lead them with calm, reassuring confidence – ensuring the project stays on track.
