TEMPORARY TEACHING ASSISTANT 1 SEN - Required as soon as possible until 31 December 2025
Band 3; point 6 11; £25,183 to £27,269 (pro rata)
Hours ideally 8:45am 3.45pm (half an hour for lunch), Monday to Thursday (but possibly negotiable)
38 weeks per year (term time only)
The Governors wish to appoint a suitably qualified, outstanding and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant commencing as soon as possible to join our happy and successful school. The temporary contract will be until 31 December 2025, in the first instance. Further information about our school can be viewed on our website at www.urmstonprimary.com.
You will:
1. Be qualified to at least Level 2 TA/LSA or equivalent
2. Have a high level and understanding and experience of working with children and young people with SEND particularly ASC.
3. Have a strong awareness and understanding of sensory need and the varied ways of meeting needs of young people.
4. Have a calm, patient and friendly manner and approach
5. Have excellent skills in terms of classroom practice with a proven track record in a primary school of supporting young people with additional needs
6. Have high expectations of children's learning and behaviour
7. Be committed, flexible and enthusiastic
8. Be an effective team member
9. Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
10. Have a keen sense of fun and enjoyment of life!
The post is specifically to support a child on a one-to-one basis when necessary but the role may also include other TA roles and responsibilities. The ideal candidate will know when and how to be flexible and adapt to different situations, but be skilled at utilising a timetabled set of support strategies.
