Closing date : 3rd July 2013 Reference : OPO150 Main Purpose: Provide a safe environment for the movement of prisoners within the court building ensuring their welfare. Main responsibilities: Primarily responsible for the high standards of safety and welfare of Prisoners in their care, especially those identified as vulnerable or with other special needs Carry out Custody Area opening and closing checks, and general security checks throughout the day Escort Prisoners to and from vehicles and Custody Areas in a safe and secure manner Search Prisoners and cells to ensure that security and safety are maintained Identify and deal with Prisoners to reduce risks to safety and security, and to maintain good order and discipline Accurate collation of relevant documentation in relation to all Prisoners Escort Prisoners to and from the Court in a safe and secure manner Carry out the duties of a dock officer Provide Prisoners with refreshments in line with requirements Help supervise official visits to Prisoners as required Carry out cell patrols to ensure that safety and security are maintained Observe Prisoners in cells within the Custody Area at the designated Court Visit the jobs website to apply for these positions.
