Your Role as a KS3 Class Teacher: Deliver Engaging Lessons – Plan and teach engaging and differentiated lessons across the KS3 curriculum, ensuring content is accessible and enjoyable for students with SEN. Support Individual Learning Needs – Use creative teaching strategies and a variety of resources to adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of students, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other SEN. Foster Confidence & Independence – Help students develop essential skills for independent learning, social interaction, and emotional regulation in a safe and supportive environment. Collaborate with the SEN Team – Work closely with teaching assistants, speech and language therapists, and other specialists to support students’ individual learning plans (IEPs) and provide a holistic approach to education. Monitor Student Progress – Regularly assess and track student progress, providing timely feedback to students, parents, and colleagues to ensure each student reaches their potential. Promote Positive Behaviour – Use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage good behaviour, emotional resilience, and a love for learning. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching at KS3, ideally in an SEN setting. ✅ Experience with SEN – A strong understanding of how to adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with a range of special educational needs. ✅ Compassionate & Patient – A caring and patient teaching style, with a strong focus on supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development. ✅ Creative & Flexible – An innovative approach to teaching, able to create engaging and accessible lessons for students with varying learning needs. ✅ Strong Communication Skills – Effective collaboration with staff, parents, and external professionals to support the overall development of students. ✅ An Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
