Registered Staff Nurse, RGH Ward 12, Acute Medical Ward

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 staff nurse on Ward 12 at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The post holder will be expected to undertake duties as a staff nurse in the Acute Medical Wards, carrying out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient/client in accordance with agreed protocols.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are observed, meeting Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB requirements as well as NMC Standards and Codes of Conduct.
Main Responsibilities
1. Manage a group of patients and occasionally take charge of the ward/department and its resources for the duration of their duty.
2. Maintain high standards of patient care.
3. Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures.
4. Support and supervise junior staff.
5. Maintain accurate, current, comprehensive, and concise records concerning the condition of the client, in accordance with NMC Standards for Record Keeping and the UHB's Patient Record Policy.
6. Liaise with appropriate Clinical Specialists (i.e., Doctors, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Clinical Nurse Specialists) regarding individual patient requirements and planned programmes of care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Ward 12 is a general medical ward specializing in several disciplines, including diabetes, endocrine care, and care of the elderly. This dynamic, well-established ward provides support and allows staff to gain experience in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of medical conditions. Due to the variety of medical specialties, experience can be gained in all areas of medicine, which can be beneficial for future progression.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying.
