Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Automotive Industry
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + Benefits
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join the team at a leading automotive company based in Glasgow. If you have a strong background in manufacturing engineering and a passion for the automotive industry, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, optimization, and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes to improve product quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
* Work closely with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
* Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve overall production processes.
* Support the introduction of new products, ensuring manufacturing feasibility and identifying any potential production challenges.
* Perform process audits and continuously monitor performance to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality, and supply chain to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
* Assist in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support equipment maintenance and upgrades, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.
Key Requirements:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within the automotive industry or a similar high-volume production environment.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, and equipment.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex manufacturing issues and implement solutions.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
* Proficiency in CAD software, as well as other relevant manufacturing and analysis tools.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality management systems.
