Position Title: Management & Program Specialist Position Location: Norfolk, VA Description: Liberty is seeking an experienced Management & Program Specialist for our military client in Norfolk, VA working within the Military Affairs office providing guidance and assistance on military protocol and administering all military personnel records. If you can work under limited supervision while demonstrating strong customer service, professional oral and written communication, organizational skills, attentiveness to detail, compliance with policies and procedures, and the ability to accomplish the below responsibilities successfully, then you may be the perfect candidate for this position. Responsibilities: Provide guidance and assistance on military protocol for military ceremonies and visits Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the Biennial Military End Strength Budget Report Administer officer and enlisted manpower billet reviews for the Commanding Officer’s approval and process information required for military personnel award recommendations and advancement nominations Process paperwork to local Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) and assist with gaining, transferring, I-stop (Temporary Duty), and retiring military personnel Assist with the Military Affairs Office with limited duty personnel coordination and other administrative items within the office Assist with preparation of Military Evaluation and Fitness report, Military Awards, and Navy Advancement Examination Processing Provide update status of military affairs items to the military administrative officer on a daily basis Ensure all personnel and pay actions are submitted accurately and completed based on data provided and Command Pay and Personnel Administrator (CPPA)/PSD checklists within documented timelines Answer emails from leadership, managers, and admin regarding status of correspondence Provide direct administrative support in planning, scheduling, developing agendas/briefs, participating in onsite/offsite meetings, official events, conferences, and assist with training actions Utilize local, Department of Navy and Department of Defense systems and databases, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to track and manage all personnel and administrative actions Maintain suspense systems and track actions for completion; assist with developing and initiating administrative methods and procedures concerning high interest items, flow of information, and processing of action packages Assist with planning and implementing visits involving distinguished visitors, guests, or large groups Use multiple office software/database applications for collecting information to produce a wide range of documents and to use the software/database to create, edit, copy, store, retrieve, sort or calculate, and present various types of information collected and for reporting purposes. Experience shall include notable supervision and/or mentoring of lesser experienced personnel. Experience may be achieved simultaneously.
