Job summary The post holder will provide administrative support to the Safeguarding on-call Consultant's, including maintaining the on- call rota. This will include the co- ordination of the rota, identification of any gaps in cover and supporting arrangements to confirm cover for any gaps. This will involve close liaison with a range of consultants and clinical teams. The postholder will be involved in the active promotion and the coordination of safeguarding training across all teams within the trust. The post holder will also be required to provide administrative support to the wider safeguarding adults and children nursing team. This will include acting as the point of contact for the wider team and answering the telephone. Quality administrative support is essential for the safeguarding team to operate effectively and is a vital and valued role within the team. The post holder will need to work flexibly across tasks to support the work of the on-call Safeguarding Consultant and the wider safeguarding administrative team. They will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a professional manner. Main duties of the job Communication: To act as a single point of contact for queries about the on-call Safeguarding rota from clinical / non-clinical staff, and other agencies. Taking Safeguarding phone calls and messages directing queries to the appropriate practitioner Provide administrative support to information requests for the On-call Safeguarding Consultants rota including requests for access to person identifiable and sensitive information. Organising and Planning: Co-ordinate the Safeguarding Consultant on call rota. Including ensuring cover for sickness and absence, escalating any patterns, concerns, and gaps. Ensure up to date details of on call consultants is maintained. transcribes formal minutes; creates databases to collect and monitor information; maintains and updates databases, regular requirement to develop or create reports and document. To carry out associated clerical duties, for example maintaining accurate filing systems, receiving post, diary management and scanning patient notes if required. To attend appropriate meetings, training and briefing sessions arranges meetings; manage diaries/ Organises events, conferences, MDT meetings .and take notes as required for formal minutes. To maintain the generic safeguarding email box for both Children's and Adults. Typing up statements/results/letters to a standard suitable for a range of court proceedings.
