Scope:
Our client is a leader in innovative drug discovery and development, seeking a Facilities Lead to support the Director of Facilities. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the operational efficiency, security, and overall appearance of our facilities. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing organization, ensuring a safe and productive environment for the teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and coordinate breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance for facility equipment.
2. Ensure efficient operation of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems; report any defects or malfunctions to the Director of Facilities.
3. Supervise contractors and sub-contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
4. Maintain security protocols for the premises, acting as a secondary key holder for out-of-hours alarms (fire, intruder, BMS).
5. Share on-call responsibilities with the Director of Facilities and Maintenance Engineer.
6. Implement and monitor energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and promote sustainability within the facility.
7. Arrange safe disposal of technical waste materials, ensuring readiness for collection as required.
8. Perform additional duties as needed, including setting up and clearing away furniture for meetings and events.
About You:
1. Hands-on approach with strong general maintenance skills.
2. Security-conscious with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
3. Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
5. Experience in a laboratory or technology environment is preferred but not essential.
