Due to continued growth and a recent £25 million industrial build project win in Manchester, they are looking to expand their team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Role Overview: As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the delivery of a high-profile £25 million steel-frame industrial warehouse project in Manchester. The position offers a largely remote working environment, with the expectation of attending the site in Manchester 1-2 days per week. Travel and accommodation will be fully covered. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, budgeting and contract administration throughout the lifecycle of the project, ensuring it is delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Cost Management: Oversee cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the industrial build project, ensuring financial control and value engineering throughout. Contract Administration: Manage contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and variations. Site Attendance: Attend the Manchester site 1-2 days per week to conduct site visits, liaise with the project team, and ensure quality and compliance with specifications. Procurement: Lead procurement activities, including managing tender processes, preparing tender documentation, and evaluating bids. Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on project costs, progress, and potential risks. Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and advise the team on mitigation strategies. Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. Key Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor with specific experience in steel-frame warehouse and industrial projects, ideally within the food manufacturing or industrial sectors. Education: A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred. MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is a distinct advantage. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction contracts (NEC, JCT) and cost management processes. Self-Motivation: Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively, with a high degree of professionalism. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in all aspects of cost reporting and contract management. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, suppliers, and project teams. Travel: Must be able to commit to 1-2 days on-site in Manchester each week. Accommodation and travel expenses will be covered.
