The successful individual will have the opportunity to join our team of Domestic Payments Control Specialists. The Domestic Payments Control Specialist role involves performing, monitoring, and assessing operational and accounting controls relating to the domestic payment streams (Faster Payments, BACS & Cheques) in line with industry, regulatory and contractual SLAs. The Controls Specialist role covers a wide range of inter-linked, critical, processes and requires a broad knowledge of domestic payment schemes, with a specialist focus on the associated internal accounting, transactional and specialist operational controls. We are looking for a willing and versatile individual who is looking for the opportunity to showcase their existing payments knowledge and expertise and is also eager to increase their knowledge across all areas of Domestic payments. The difference you’ll make: Working within the Domesic Payments Control Team you will have various responsibilities, below is a brief overview of key accountabilities: Performing operational controls, account clearance, and workflow management activities within clearly defined timescales. Analysing and interrogating control outputs to detect potential issues; working cross-functionally to resolve and remediate any anomalies and ensure controls are fit for purpose. Competently identifying, managing, and reporting potential risk in accordance with policies and procedures Identifying potential control gaps and working across the function to mitigate associated risks. Contributing fully to the on-going success of the team through effective teamwork, seeking efficiencies and working smarter, providing support to other team members (where in capacity) when priorities change or at times of peak workload. What you’ll bring: A good level of controls knowledge Exceptional collaboration and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team It is essential to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel as well as knowledge of the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite Ability to interpret and question complex data and processes beyond following simple instructions. Flexibility and willingness to learn. It would also be nice for you to have: Domestic Payments knowledge including BACS, Faster Payments and Cheques. The ability to identify patterns and trends in data sets Ability to display sound time management skills by delivering activities within prescribed timeframes through the effective prioritisation of actions (self and team) across multiple projects and ongoing programmes. What else you need to know: This position is being advertised on behalf of PagoNxt. This role is based in Bootle, and you will be expected to spend two days per month of your time in this office. Additional office attendance for training and team support may also be required.
