Within Engineering, the UCL Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering is a multidisciplinary department renowned for innovation and excellence in research and teaching. About the role
The UCL Geomatics section comprises academic staff, Research Associates and PhD students with complimentary skills from geospatial data collection to processing and analytics.
1. Engage in research of international standing on foundational or generative AI, and their applications to spatial data.
2. Enhance the department's research capacity by bringing expert knowledge in the latest advances in fundamental and generative AI, and their applications to and data-centric engineering.
3. Contribute to teaching in the MSc programmes and the wider department, with a focus on Programming, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
4. Develop positive working relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues in the Department and the Geomatics section.
The salary for this role is (£52,487 - £72,370). Salary/Title on appointment is subject to experience.
About you
1. PhD in Computer Science, GeoInformatics or other areas related to Spatial AI
2. Demonstrated excellence in research in deep learning and AI
3. Experience of application of generative AI to real-world problems
4. Knowledge of and experience in core machine learning algorithms, large-scale foundation models
5. An excellent track record of publications
