An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Adult Registered Nurse to join our friendly and expanding team on AMU Short Stay as Deputy Ward Manager. AMU Short Stay is within the Emergency Care Directorate and is an area of continuous development. We are a 27-bedded acute unit with 14 medical short stay beds and 13 medical frailty beds.
AMU Short Stay is looking for a highly motivated individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and wishes to contribute to our vision of providing compassionate nursing care. We are seeking to recruit a deputy ward manager who can make a difference with their dedication and expertise whilst upholding the trust's values and behaviours. We are a friendly department with a positive ethos and strong nursing leadership.
As an experienced nurse, you will work both clinically as a member of the nursing team providing clinical advice, expertise, and leadership to all staff in partnership with the ward managers. Applicants need to have a sound knowledge of clinical, leadership, and managerial skills. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to lead as well as work within a team: to supervise, nurture, and develop the knowledge and skills of staff.
Main duties of the job
1. To support the Ward Manager in the day-to-day management of the ward.
2. To take charge of the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager.
3. To ensure the ward runs efficiently, by promoting mental health care through Health Board policies and NMC guidelines and code of practice.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
