The QMS & Compliance Officer is a varied and interesting role which requires an experienced individual to undertake a variety of quality & compliance audits across the Trust to demonstrate compliance with legal obligations and to ensure our high standards are maintained in relation to local and national standards.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for undertaking internal quality & compliance reviews against Essentia standards for services as required undertaken by a range of departments across Essentia. The post holder will be expected to oversee, support and advise on all aspects of the processes. The post holder will have responsibility for liaising with responsible leads to note the action updates, escalate any issues to their line manager and review completed actions in accordance with the relevant standards and to develop working relationships with stakeholders who relate to the specific requirements of the role. The expectations of a range of stakeholders will often conflict and the post holder will require skills in persuasion, diplomacy and the ability to explain technical information and subjects in terms which are clearly understandable.
Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and outcome driven individual who has relevant experience in the following areas:
* Experience in ISO Standards or similar quality standards.
* Proven observational, listening and questioning experience.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and experience in dealing with staff of all levels.
* Experience in a quality assurance department and a good understanding of continuous improvement.
You will have significant experience within the auditing and compliance sector within a large organisation, excellent written and communication skills, and ability to interpret data to produce meaningful reports. An excellent ability to engage with others to support the department in driving improvement programmes. You will be able to balance conflicting demands and prioritise your own workloads and have the ability to achieve results through a combination of effective planning and organisation.
Education/Qualification
* NVQ or above or relevant professional experience.
* GCSE’s including English & Maths
Experience/Knowledge
* Experience of auditing in a NHS / clinical setting.
* Experience of interacting with a wide range of individuals including patients/clients, staff members, senior managers, members of the public and external organisations.
* Working knowledge of quality governance and management system functions.
* Experience of gathering and analysing complex and business sensitive information.
* Experience of report writing using complex data from a number of different departments and integrating information from these to produce the required outcomes.
* Experience of working with complex databases and generating error-free reports.
