Job Title: Adaptations Surveyor Salary: £36,000 - £38,000 Contract: Permanent Location: Northwest Weekly Hours: 35 Hours So…. What is this role exactly? This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Adaptations Surveyor to join YHG, and work for an award-winning Adaptations Service, to assist with managing the delivery of major and minor adaptations within our customers’ homes. We are looking for a technically competent and motivated individual who has fantastic people skills for this customer focused role. What will my working week look like? We have properties in Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Staffordshire, and Yorkshire and the successful candidate will need to be flexible in travelling to our customer homes in each of these areas when needed. Ideally you will also live within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Birchwood, Warrington to attend meetings and training courses. What will I be responsible for doing? First and foremost, you will have overall responsibility for the management and delivery of all major and minor adaptations on site for works YHG. You will also monitor any works delivered in partnership with the local Authority and have responsibility for all required pre-contract design documentation. You will also attend pre-starts, monitor works in progress, and be present for handovers. The Adaptations Surveyor will also provide any technical assistance required and ensure compliance with contract documents, construction regulations and best practice. The health, safety and wellbeing of our customers, colleagues and members of the public is paramount and so you will be expected to be fully conversant with all relevant Health & Safety legislation along with GDPR and Safeguarding. Relevant qualification such as HNC in Building Surveying or willing to work towards Experience of working in a social housing environment Experience of managing and delivering adaptations Sound construction knowledge Be fully conversant with building regulations approved documents, the party wall act and planning application process. IT literate Ideally you will be a collaborative team player, self-motivated and flexible in your approach that strives for excellence in all that you do. This role is really suited to someone who has strong interpersonal skills with a customer focused approached to service delivery alongside proven planning, coordinating and organisational skills.
