Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial accounting and management. This role will involve overseeing accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting. The right candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation.
Responsibilities
* Prepare annual statutory accounts and management of annual audits in accordance with accounting standards.
* Prepare and present monthly management accounts.
* Submit quarterly VAT returns.
* Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements.
* Maintain and update fixed assets records.
* Managing ledgers.
* Produce and present budgets and forecasts.
* Negotiate and administer company insurances.
* Manage cash flow and bank balances.
* Administration of Company House and National Statistics returns.
* Utilise/implement company accounting software to manage financial transactions efficiently.
* Provide cover for the Accounts Administrators duties, fostering a collaborative team environment.
* Collaborate with Directors, shareholders, managers/other departments to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as an Accountant within the construction/manufacturing industry.
* Proficiency in using and implementing accounting software ideally MS Dynamics/Navision.
* Qualified by experience or studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification.
* Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong organisational, administration and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively within a busy environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate confidently with the business owner, managers and external stakeholders.
* Able to improve processes, efficiency and support business growth.
* Experience in managing, leading and training accounts teams.
* Flexible in approach and able to deliver to deadlines.
* Ability to share and support the vision of the Directors.
