About your role
All of our service provision will be delivered in a person-centred manner, with absolute engagement of the people we support.
In this role you are a key part of the Management team, providing leadership to frontline teams. The role of Clinical Deputy is to work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure high quality care, safety and compliance are at the forefront of service delivery and operation. Pirton Grange provides Specialist Nursing Care for people with neurological conditions including dementia, Korsakoff syndrome, Huntington’s Disease and Acquired Brain Injury.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes but is not limited to:
* Work closely with the Registered Manager to formulate effective strategies for the safe delivery and development of the service including supporting implementation and oversight.
* Ensure completion of designated quality assurance audits, presenting findings and mitigating action taken to Monthly Pirton Governance Committee.
* Assist the Registered Manager to meet all relevant regulatory, contract and good practice standards.
* Provide effective leadership and support for the nursing and care team within the home alongside the Registered Manager.
* Conduct regular supervisions and appraisals where performance is assessed and managed.
* Conduct regular team meetings alongside the manager where service progress and person-centeredness is assessed and managed.
* Provide support to Clinical teams in relation to medicines management and assess colleagues’ competency to manage medication.
* Act as a mentor for new nurses joining the team alongside the Clinical Management Team.
* Lead Care reviews and liaise directly with health and social care professionals to ensure that residents receive the medical and clinical support they require.
* Demand high quality service delivery that focuses on residents’ individual assessed needs.
* Ensure all new starters receive thorough inductions, coaching and guiding Nurses/support workers/senior support workers.
* Ensure that staff have undertaken training appropriate to their role and that learning is transferred into practice.
* Monitor delivery of care, including effective management and oversight of commissioned hours and staffing.
* Work closely with the Registered Manager and Business Development team to review referrals and conduct thorough assessments.
* Ensure colleagues are aware of company policies and procedures and that these are incorporated into practice.
* Ensure effective and clearly documented handover systems are in place.
* Ensure that all colleagues are aware of safeguarding vulnerable adults procedures.
* Act at all times within own competence and knowledge in line with NMC registration requirements.
* Maintain own skills and keep up to date with regulatory and clinical developments.
* Work collaboratively with all directorates within the organisation.
* Act as a representative of Iris Care Group in all dealings with external professionals, families, carers and members of the public.
* Contribute to a 24 hour on call system on a rota basis.
* Work flexibly across a 7-day rota, including evenings, nights and weekends.
* Any ad hoc duties to meet service delivery for our residents and Pirton Grange.
* RMN/RGN/RNLD/Paramedic registered with HCPC.
* Relevant management qualification or valid PIN and applicable registration with relevant bodies without sanction.
* Experience of CQC/Local Authority inspection process.
