ABOUT THE ROLE:
Shoptalk is looking for a Senior Content Producer to help build our conference agenda for Shoptalk Europe which takes place annually in Barcelona. The role will be responsible for working very closely with the rest of the content team to research and write session titles and descriptions, and identify and recruit speakers from across the European retail ecosystem. This role reports to the VP, Content for Shoptalk Europe.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
1. Researching (including in depth research calls), analysing and proposing topics to include on our agendas to help ensure that Shoptalk Europe is at the forefront of thought leadership for European retail and a voice for change and innovation
2. Writing in-depth descriptions of tracks, sessions and more
3. Helping to identify and recruit hundreds of global senior-level (VP level and above) speakers from major retailers and consumer brands, venture-backed startups, tech companies, investors, consulting firms and more
4. Ensuring that our speaker pipeline is always full, progressing and accurate, and that key speaker recruitment milestones are hit
5. Joining calls with speakers and moderators to shape the conversation that will take place at each event, and ensuring each session provides specific value and tangible insights to our audience
6. Reviewing and providing feedback on speakers’ presentations to ensure they meet our high standards and provide true value to our audience
7. Progressing to interview speakers on-stage, deliver welcoming remarks and emcee duties as needed
8. Helping to shape, manage and deliver our Tabletalks program – a key feature of events for curated peer-to-peer networking
9. Collaborating with other teams at Shoptalk including sponsorship, retailer and brand (audience acquisition) team, marketing, design and event logistics to ensure a world-class experience for all event attendees
10. Offering support wherever is needed to help create a fantastic experience for speakers and attendees from recommending that speakers join our Hosted Meetings Program to exploring opportunities for them to partner on our SWAG store, content-led marketing and more
WHO YOU ARE:
To be successful in this role, you must have/be:
1. Minimum 4 years of work experience in relevant sector e.g. Retail, Technology, Events etc.
2. Strong copy-writing skills, copy-editing skills and attention to detail in all aspects of work
3. Ability to meticulously manage speaker acquisition pipelines and a track record of hitting key milestones and targets
4. Ability to quickly analyse and distill industry information
5. Confidence communicating with influential and senior leaders at major retailers and consumer brands
6. Experience of, or interest in, presenting or speaking in front of large groups
7. Intense curiosity about how retail is changing
8. Ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders, and conflicting priorities
9. Must be self-motivated, resilient, willing to take on new tasks, and adept at multitasking in a fast-changing and dynamic environment
10. Available to work 3 days in our London Paddington office
11. A team player with strong interpersonal skills
12. Language skills beneficial but not essential – particularly, French, Spanish, Italian and German
