The Opportunity
Bristol Structures is a thriving team within the West's Property, Science & Industry (PSI) portfolio – a multidisciplinary group covering teams in our Bristol, Winchester and Cardiff offices. Over recent years we have developed exceptional links with key local and national clients. The team are currently busy delivering a diverse range of projects ranging from large, highly sustainable office buildings to sensitive refurbishments of heritage cultural assets.
We have an opportunity for a Structural Engineer who is seeking technically challenging work on cutting-edge projects to join our established building engineering team in Bristol.
You will work within a multi-disciplinary team with a focus on the Commercial, Science, Mission critical, Healthcare and Industrial sectors.
Responsibilities:
* Perform structural design & analysis activities.
* Coordinate with clients, architects, MEP engineers and other technical specialists to produce structural solutions within the built environment.
* Collaborate with other members of the structural team to produce drawings, specifications and other deliverables to a high quality, on time and to budget.
* Work with the project manager to plan and deliver the work.
* Work with Revit technicians to develop 3D models and drawings.
Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for candidates who:
* Hold a M.Eng or equivalent, in a relevant structural/civil engineering discipline.
* Are looking to become chartered soon through the ICE or IStructE.
* Have detailed background in structural Eurocode design of concrete & steel framed buildings. Background in timber and masonry design would also be useful.
* Have experience and/or a desire to learn about structural refurbishment / repurposing of existing buildings.
* Demonstrate an ability to communicate through sketching, drawing, presentations and report writing.
