Job Title: Production Engineer
Reporting to: Production Engineer Lead (Direct)
Direct Reports: None
Key Stakeholders:
* Internal: Manufacturing department, other Production Engineers, Design Engineers, Supply Chain, and Quality Department.
* External: Suppliers and service providers.
The Production Engineer will ensure high-quality standards and efficient manufacturing of electro-mechanical products. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, solving engineering challenges, and optimizing production processes using methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and PFMEA. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product design and compliance with ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Zero injuries.
* Zero environmental incidents.
* Achieve key targets set by the Production Engineering Lead (KPIs).
* Diagnose and resolve production issues using root cause analysis, implementing sustainable corrective actions.
* Proactively identify process improvements using value stream mapping or other techniques.
* Develop strategies to improve efficiency and profit, including implementing new processes and equipment.
* Keep Bill of Materials (BOM) and Drawing Revisions up-to-date on ENNAPS.
* Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), PFMEA documents, and processes for all products.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Generate and update production documentation (SOPs, Autonomous Maintenance, etc.).
* Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling for assembly tasks.
* Maintain data collection regarding quality and process issues to inform Quality Pareto.
* Assist the shopfloor on the CI journey facilitating the implementation of Lean tools, such as Kanban, 5S, visual management, and layout changes.
* Oversee the Engineering Change Request Process and provide input for Design for Manufacture/Assembly during New Product Development.
* Collaborate with different departments and suppliers to resolve quality issues, manage warranties/returns, and implement robust corrective solutions
Key Skills and Experience
* 2-4 years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or related engineering fields, with a focus on electro-mechanical products.
* Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or relevant engineering qualification.
* Strong understanding of electronic design and manufacturing, with the ability to read and interpret schematic drawings.
* Proven ability to analyse and solve complex problems, translating technical challenges into clear, actionable concepts.
* Hands-on experience with PFMEA, structured problem-solving tools, and methodologies; Six Sigma certification is a plus.
* Demonstrated success in applying continuous improvement methodologies such as TPM, A3, PDCA, k Lean Manufacturing, and eliminating the 8 wastes.
* Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor) and MS Office tools (Excel, Word); familiarity with Access is advantageous.
* Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
* Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
* Strong management skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to train, mentor, and inspire others, fostering a collaborative and supportive workplace culture is advantageous
