This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in April 2025. About the Biology Department: The Biology department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared passion for exploring the living world. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from cell biology to ecology. We encourage students to develop their practical skills through experiments and dissections, and we provide access to well-equipped laboratories and resources. About the Role: Teach Biology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A Level Biology depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including demonstrations, experiments, and ICT, to bring Biology to life for students. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Biology curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of Biology in students, encouraging them to explore the natural world and develop their scientific understanding. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Biology education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Biology. Demonstrates a passion for teaching Biology and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Biology. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
