It’s a hands-on and challenging 5-year scheme, designed to help you develop as far as you want to go. Summary
This diverse role will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to maintain our state-of-the-art production facilities and work as a member of our team. Our maintenance teams do an important job operating all over our Sunderland plant, so you’ll have plenty of valuable networking opportunities. What’s more, you’ll gain experience working with some of the most up to date manufacturing equipment in the industry.
Minimum Requirements
* 4 GCSE grades or equivalent (achieved or predicted)
* Mathematics (Grade A-B or 5+)
* English Language (Grade A-C or 4+)
* Two other subjects (Grade A-C or 4+)
* A can-do attitude, motivated to achieve in your daily work and learning
* 16 or over at the start of your apprenticeship
* The ability to commute to and from the Nissan Sunderland plant SR5 3NS
* Eligibility to work in the UK. You must have ordinarily resided in the UK & Islands for at least 3 years by Sept 2025 (proof will be requested during the selection process)
* Please note, we operate a zero-tolerance approach to drugs and alcohol and pre-employment testing is part of our recruitment process. Any failure will result in the withdrawal of any offer and non-progression of your application.
What you’ll be doing
* You will split your time between college learning and working within our world-class manufacturing plant, equipping you with the skills and knowledge you need to work as part of the team maintaining our state-of-the-art production facilities.
* You will be supported by our experienced technicians to nurture your theoretical, problem-solving and hands-on skills.
* With varied working areas, including Body Shop, Trim & Chassis, Powertrain and Press & Plastics, you will have the chance to see a range of manufacturing areas, working within the team responsible for breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, dynamic checks and project work.
* You will get the opportunity to experience the latest machinery and equipment such as PLCs, AGVs and FANUC robots.
* Your developing skills will also support the development of the current and future line-up of Nissan’s vehicles, including new model launches and the qualities processes of associated production processes.
Through this blended approach, you will have the chance to achieve the following qualifications by the end of your apprenticeship:
* Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
* Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
* Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician
* HNC in Engineering
*Performance dependent. All qualifications may be subject to change.
