About the Role
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual to step into a role that provides excellent accounting and administrative support to the pensions and investment section of the Technical Accounting Team.
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work on a variety of tasks focusing on areas such as accounting for pension contributions, treasury management, ownership of various reconciliations and accounting processes and supporting the Council's banking system.
The role is also an opportunity for individuals to develop strong leadership experience by supervising the finance assistants within the team as well as advising managers within the section.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
1. Hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a business related subject
2. Have experience of accounting processes including journals and the accurate and timely reconciliation of ledgers and bank accounts
3. Be able to take responsibility for organising your own work to achieve objectives in order of priority, demonstrating a flexible approach to meet changing demands
4. Be able to interpret and use financial information to inform decisions and manage risks
5. Work co-operatively across team and service boundaries to improve performance and efficiency, maximising the use of new systems and ways of working
6. Have the confidence to take action to implement new ideas within your area of responsibility
7. Encourage others to seek opportunities for improvements and increased efficiency
