My client, a leading contractor within the Water Sector, has a brand new requirement for MEICA Site Supervisors with experience in water and/or infrastructure project delivery to support the delivery of projects within our Core Projects delivery stream. The role will report to the Works Superintendent.
Individual project values will typically range between £200k - £3M. This is a site-based position, with all sites located in the North West of England.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision of site mechanical, electrical, instrument, control and automation (MEICA) installations
2. Active contribution to the production of site safety documentation relating to overall site management and the MEICA package of works
3. Ensuring SHE standards are continuously improved and that safe systems of work are being adhered to
4. Drive a positive safety culture and promote engagement with the Subcontract delivery team(s)
5. Ensuring a high-quality product is being produced in line with current standards and specifications
6. Ensure that ITPs are in place and check sheets are completed on site throughout the construction and commissioning phases
7. Contribute to the production of appropriate records for hazardous area or safety critical systems e.g. COMPEX certification, tightness testing for mechanical installations
8. Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks where appropriate
9. Ensure MEICA safety rules are adhered to and supporting documentation is produced in line with mechanical and electrical safety rules
10. Actively contribute to isolation planning and isolation management (mechanical and electrical)
11. Ensure and monitor the competency of Subcontractor site resource
12. Undertake 'Work Authorisation Training' and act in the capacity of Person Coordinating the Work (PCW) where agreed
13. Oversee the issue of permits (where required), or ensure implementation of UU / Subcontractor permits where necessary
14. Carry out regular MEICA safety inspections on temporary and permanent equipment
15. Oversee works within hazardous environments, including areas with biogas presence, high pressure systems etc.
16. Oversee on-site testing e.g. cable testing, pressure testing, hydrostatic testing, software/telemetry testing etc.
17. Assist with compilation of handover documentation, as-built drawings, O&Ms etc.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. HNC or higher within Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline
2. Previous water/wastewater site experience (preferred), or familiarity with process industries
3. Familiarity with WIMES and end client MEICA standards (preferred)
4. Familiarity with working in hazardous environments
5. Prior knowledge of DSEAR and COMPEX requirements
6. SSSTS / SMSTS
