We are now searching for our Biscuit & Baked Goods Process Technologist to join us at our site in Peterborough : Biscuit & Baked Goods Process Technologist Job Purpose To be the Trusted Advisor both internally and externally on Biscuit production processes, from dough mixing through to end of line processing across the full range of traditional biscuit and cracker products. Main Duties As a key member of the Biscuit Sales team, you will be process support for: Provide process direction to the Sales Support team while generating technical solutions and generating proposals for our customers. Give process advice and review of equipment design with its effect on dough rheology and final baked products, mitigating delivery risk. Support customer visits and meetings with Sales Engineers to act as process trusted advisor, understanding our customer’s process requirements and ensuring Baker Perkins offers the optimum solution. Assessment of customers process requirements: co-ordinate and conduct process trials both internally in our test bakery and with customers providing written assessments and reporting, especially in Biscuits and Cookies production. As required support of the commissioning of process lines at our customer’s facilities, to optimise the equipment setup and end products as the line moves into full production. Work with the Applications Manger and Sales team across the brands of the Group, in identifying development opportunities in both current processes and new aligned processes. Candidate Profile A background in food manufacturing, ideally with experience in a technologist role within the food industry, preferably in Patisserie / Baked Goods / Biscuits. Extensive knowledge across ingredients, equipment and manufacturing processes: recipe understanding of the biscuit / cookie production and its application on equipment Knowledge of dough rheology for the mixing systems, line processing for a wide range of biscuit types, (hard dough biscuits and soft dough cookies), through to baking and post oven processes.
