Assistant Quantity Surveyor & Quantity Surveyor - London Gatwick
Location: London Gatwick
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Assistant Quantity Surveyor: £36,000 - £45,000 DOE + Package
Quantity Surveyor: £55,000 - £65,000 DOE + Package
About the Role: My client, a leading contractor in the construction industry, is looking to expand its team with the addition of experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors. The role will be focused on managing financial interests while supporting the successful delivery of high-profile fit-out projects, including a new project currently in the tendering stage.

Key Responsibilities:
* Participate in the procurement of specialist trades and make appointment recommendations to the project director.
* Assist in drafting subcontract agreements.
* Assess, negotiate, and settle subcontractor interim valuations and final accounts.
* Review and assess developing design information to provide cost implications.
* Identify and advise on value engineering opportunities.
* Prepare and submit monthly valuations to the Employer’s Representative and agree on valuations.
* Participate in monthly internal cost reporting, including cost vs. value reconciliations, turnover reports, and project outcome projections.
* Contribute to the preparation and submission of project final accounts.
* Provide proactive contractual advice to the project director.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the wider project team.
Requirements:
* A Level 8 degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or above.
* 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and explain reports effectively.
* Proven experience in dealing with subcontractors and clients.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Good understanding of current industry agreements and contracts.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Bluebeam, CostX, and Cubit is advantageous (training can be provided).
