Each day is different; here are some examples of what could happen in a day:
1. Household tasks (e.g., food shopping, health and safety checks, cleaning, food prep).
2. School runs/clubs.
3. Completing admin tasks to support the home's development.
4. Having dinner together and holding important conversations.
5. Support children and young people to attend appointments.
6. Recording accurate daily records.
7. Administering medication.
8. Planning activities and spending time with the children and young people.
9. Teaching and guiding the young people to learn life skills.
10. Being there for children and young people when they are going through tricky times.

Some of the job responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement individualized care plans for children, ensuring their emotional and physical well-being.
2. Utilize strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with children and their families.
3. Monitor and document children's progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
4. Work with children to help teach, support, and guide them to learn skills and embrace new experiences.
5. Collaborate with team members to create a nurturing environment that promotes growth and development.
6. Be a part of reviews and advocate for the children that we provide a loving home for.
7. Work with other agencies to help children reach their potential and targets.
Qualifications and skills:
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and colleagues.
* Experience working with children in a residential setting (Essential).
* Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (Essential).
* Level 3 in residential children and young people’s workforce, or willingness to work towards this.
* Familiarity with IT systems to maintain documentation (Essential).
* Enhanced DBS check.
Hours:
The role is part of a small team within our 2 bed OFSTED registered home, working on a rota basis. A sleep-in element is required and starts at 10 PM. This is paid in addition to your hourly rate.
An example of a rota:
1. Week 1 – Friday – Saturday
2. Week 2 – Wednesday – Thursday
3. Week 3 – Monday – Tuesday – Saturday – Sunday
4. Week 4 - Thursday – Friday
5. Week 5 – Tuesday – Wednesday – Sunday
It is vital that we safeguard children and young people; therefore, the role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and the recruitment process adheres to the safer recruitment legislation.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed-term contract
Pay: £13.20-£13.70 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 42 per week
