Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Weapon/Marine Engineer to join their team. The role is based between Bristol and Portsmouth. The role requires SC clearance and candidates must be sole UK nationals. Requirements are scheduled to run from April 2025 until 31/03/2027 and offer a rate up to £750/day. IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS : 24/01/2025 at 10:00 The Role The team are seeking experienced Weapon/Marine Engineers, to join an exciting programme to support the delivery of S-IKM Engineering Data Services Team (EDST). The requirement is for x6 FTE (full time effort) to be supplied/provided into the team. Provide support, using engineering SQEP to allow the data set contained within the IT system to be maintained, developed, improved and integrated, into a coherent application for current and future Naval platforms. This will further enable new capabilities, ways of manipulating the data sets and to support the DE&S Authorities, to ensure the data continues to meet the requirements in support of operational platforms, systems and equipment. Main Responsibilities include: Actively seek out non-conformant, duplicate and redundant data within defined delegations. Initiate and coordinate external action where necessary. Ensure data rights, support and business needs are captured and configured against the data that they relate to. Perform audit of system data quality and manage shortfalls. Manage access and governance of the ROSETTA application set on behalf of the platform information asset owners. Assist in ILS and RCM investigations by providing expert data analytics and document/data recovery. Produce and maintain dashboards/other management and Business Information to support Availability Working Groups, In-Service Capability Management Boards, Platform Safety and Environmental Committee meetings, facilitate and support the Metadata Standards Board and its objectives and other meetings and forums as required by the programme. Essential Skills and Experience Experience within the UK Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) environment and / or experience in the UK / International Defence Industry. All aspects of Data Governance (data Migration, Management and improvement). Experience in IPR, ITAR & ASSC. Practical experience of operating and maintaining a modern warship. Experienced Weapons or Marine Engineer. All aspects of Document Configuration Management. Understanding of MOD data bases currently in use such as UMMS, MCWE, SSDD, Trilogiview, Compass, DSTAN & SOCS Data Portal. Experience and knowledge of the data included in the toolsets above. Experience and knowledge of CSM BP’s, DEFSTANs & BR’s. Desirable Skills and Experience To have an understanding/awareness of MoD related commercial practices. Competent in all MS Applications. Knowledge of JSP 248/440. Efficient and Clear Communicator. Ability to liaise at all levels. Project Management skills. All aspects of training requirements including TNA.
