Manufacturing Engineer Location: Chippenham Rate : £18-£22 PH (Paye) // £23.50 - £28.80 (Umbrella) Duration: Ongoing contract We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company in a dynamic role supporting manufacturing excellence. You’ll play a pivotal role in extensive manufacturing department while contributing to process optimisation and lean manufacturing initiatives. Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, resolve challenges, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities: Support production by refining manufacturing processes to ensure relevance, efficiency, and lean practices. Source equipment and perform engineering tasks to maintain smooth operations. Collaborate with the Obsolescence Team to identify and replace outdated components. Plan, prioritize, and optimize resources to meet deadlines and business needs. Maintain accurate documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensure compliance with legislation and company policies. Champion health and safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor team members and apprentices, sharing knowledge to enhance team capabilities. Adapt to shifting priorities and support other departments as required. What We’re Looking For: Completion of a time-served mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or equivalent. Strong knowledge of wiring practices and multi-skilled in electrical/mechanical tasks. Computer literacy and proficiency in documentation. Proven ability to plan workloads, communicate effectively, and work autonomously or as part of a team. Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards. Beneficial Skills (Not Mandatory): Experience with wire looms/loom frames. Basic understanding of electronics. Driving licence (advantageous but not essential).
