Visit our website to learn more. Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Assembly Team Leader to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities: Role Summary As a team leader within Pump Assembly you will be required to use your strong leadership and interpersonal skills to support the Value Stream Manager by working collaboratively with your Team Leader colleagues to ensure that products are produced safely in the required quantity, on time and on cost. You will be using Lean Manufacturing principles to lead a team to deliver the Key Performance Indicators whilst adhering to Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures. You will provide leadership and supervision for the pump production team including recruitment, organisation and supporting their development through training, auditing, mentoring and regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews to enable them to achieve and maintain high performance. You will assist with the implementation of standard operating procedures both in Manufacturing and business processes to support the Value Stream Manager. You will also work collaboratively with your colleagues in NPI and Manufacturing Engineering to assist with the integration and the transfer of new product developments into live production. Understand and implement the vision for the value streams best in class Safe and Lean operation and lead the team to execute the improvements on the journey to that goal. Engage in project activities in collaboration with the CI lead to implement and drive Lean best practices across the operation. Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, establishing a deep understanding of their environment, and generating a clear understanding of the challenges they face. Ensure the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction, demonstrating a passion to exceed customer expectations. Engage and empower the assembly team members to identify and drive the value creating activities. Identify and improve processes and/or systems that stand in the way of value creating activities. Identify, implement and improve key process metrics to understand the health of operations while providing a baseline for continuous improvement. Support with forecasting and planning manufacturing growth including floor space, equipment capacity, tooling, and labour required to meet quantities and schedules. Engage and lead empowerment through Self Directed Teams. Demonstrate your own accountability and foster a culture of accountability across all areas of responsibility. Maintain a strong focus on safety, training, and the development of people. Skills/Experience: This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role. Strong People Management skills – with experience managing teams in an operationally focused industry. Background in Manufacturing or Engineering. Prior manufacturing leadership experience. Knowledge of requirements for operational excellence including, but not limited to Lean and 6 Sigma. Highly skilled at building and maintaining a strong team and maintaining effective, productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers. Demonstrable business acumen with highly developed negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. Analytical with the ability to interpret data to provide strategic and tactical solutions. Positive, self-managing and highly motivated you thrive in a fast paced, innovative environment, with a flexible and proactive nature.
